Drawing for Animations

This short course develops the foundation skills in drawing techniques used in various animation preproduction processes. Topics such as life drawing, perspective, and character design will be delivered to prepare learners for subsequent study in the various form of animation production, such as classical animation, stop motion animation or 3D animation.

Elementary Classical Animation

This course approaches animation in the traditional methods using hand drawn approaches. Learners will be given the opportunity to explore the animation production process by completing a set of short exercises. The sessions will include the entire production process, from ideas generation to setting up the equipments, to the design process. Learners will have the chance to export their completed works onto DVD to showcase their works.

Learners will be given the opportunity to explore the animation production process by completing a set of short exercises. Pattern Making and Sewing

The Patternmaking short course is designed to give students the skills to create patterns in a range of different styles to fit various sizes.

Students will learn how to create standard "block patterns" and manipulate them to specific size and measurements. The Sewing short course in incorporated to help students produce professionally fitted garments and teach them the "tricks of the trade" to creating beautifully finished garments.

Fundamentals of Photography (Basic)

The fundamentals of capturing a good image are extremely important. In this course learners will learn the basic principles and concepts of camera handling and photography. This course will explore the world of commercial photography infusion with advertising and promotions. Learners will not only explore product photography techniques but also learn basic principals of advertising and photography for different genres. To develop a basic appreciation for digital imaging, image manipulation and poster design through the use of Adobe Photoshop. This course also introduces learners to the very basics, tools and techniques to create bitmap and image base graphics.

This beginner's course will introduce students to one of the industry's leading video editing applications – Premiere. Get acquainted with the basics of video editing, navigating Premiere and see how easy it can be to turn videos from amateurish to professional! Students will be able to load their videos into Premiere and edit them, output their video in various formats and under the intricacies of video editing at the end of the course.

Short Film Production

In this short film production course, students will be equipped with the requisite skills to enable them to produce creative yet professional looking short films covering the production process from concept through to final output. Students are expected to participate in a variety of hands on practical production activities in order to hone their skills and to apply the theory covered in the class lectures. Proficient camera operation, composition, lighting and editing will all be covered in the lessons, as well as materials relating to NLE editing, compression, subtitling and exporting for a variety of media forms.
