Tuition Grant FMDS offer tuition grants of up to 20% for local and international students on selected intakes for a limited period throughout the year.
FMDS Design Scholarship Objectives of the FMDS Design Scholarship • The FMDS Scholarship is sponsored by the First Media (FM) Group, Singapore. Headquartered in Singapore, FM has more than 20 design studios spread across five Asian markets. For more information about FM and its activities, please visit www.firstmedia.com.sg. • As part of the FMDS Vision 10:100, FMDS plans to identify, nurture and develop potential design talents from around the region. These individuals will be groomed to become future FM partners or managers who will contribute to the growth of the group in regional markets. • FMDS will only recruit up to 10 (fully sponsored) scholars per year based on selection basis. Scholars will undertake full time studies with First Media Design School in Singapore, pursuing an Advanced Diploma in either Graphic Design or Multimedia Design. What Does the Scholarship Offer? • Upon assessment by the management, recipients will either be granted a full or partial scholarship, of which the latter would entitle its recipients to a 30% subsidy of the entire school fees. • The FMDS Scholarship is valued between S$ 20,000 (local Singaporean and Permanent Residents) and S$ 36,000 (international students) for two years full time studies. • The FMDS Scholarship is tenable for the minimum period required to obtain Advanced Diploma qualification at First Media Design School, Singapore (two years). It covers full tuition fees and course materials over two academic years. What Does the Scholarship Offer? • Applications for full FMDS Scholarships open in April and January every year. • Applications for FMDS Partial Scholarships of up to maximum 30% of total school fees is open throughout the four intakes every year. • Scholars are to arrange for their own air travel to Singapore. However, FMDS will assist in arranging their accommodation. All transport and accommodation expenses are to be borne by the scholar. • Recipients of the FMDS Scholarship may not concurrently hold any other scholarship, fellowship, grant or award. • FMDS scholars are not required to serve a bond. However, upon graduation, scholars are expected to return home and contribute to the development of the design and design-related industries of their home countries. • The Scholarship is open to applicants who have not gained admission to, and who are not currently studying in any university or private institution. • FMDS reserves the right to terminate the Scholarship if the scholar's academic progress or conduct is unsatisfactory. Study Now Pay Later Scheme FMDS offer this scheme to students who are financially weak and can't afford any form of payment but have a strong interest to study with us at FMDS. Subjected to background check by FMDS, applicants must produce relevant information stating their parents' income status and about their current monthly salary and expenses. This scheme is awarded based on case-by-case basis upon review by FMDS. Students on the study-first-pay-later scheme will pay for the $695.50 initial registration fee at the beginning and only pay the balance of their school fees after they graduate, in small monthly installments of about $400 over five years. As a sign of good faith, the school will charge no interest and students who participate in the scheme will have to sign a contract with FMDS. As a form of repayment assurance, students and their families can use existing insurance policies and/or their parents' assets as collateral. There will not be any tuition grant offers to students who opt for the above scheme. Potential students must meet the admission criteria and will be interviewed by the Principal for final approval.
