  • All applicants will be notified of their application status through phone or email. If you should be successful in your application, an official acceptance letter will be issued to you within 14 days.
  • If you should be successful in your application, you will have to sign a formal Student Contract with FMDS and to pay the first term school fee on the same day of signing the contract. Refer to here for the standard student contract adopted by FMDS as stipulated by the Council for Private Education (CPE).

Why is this important?

  • The student contract is a critical document that governs the relationship between FMDS and the student.  Prospective students should therefore understand and agree to the terms and conditions stated in the student contract before signing it.
  • The process of executing student contracts is important as it allows for questions by prospective students to be answered by FMDS before the student is enrolled. A student contract that is explained clearly and understood by the student will minimise potential disputes between FMDS and the student.

What are the specific requirements?

  • Under the PE Regulation Section 25(6), every registered PEI must execute a student contract for any course that is more than two months in duration.
  • Under EduTrust criteria 4.2, PEIs must execute a student contract for every course unless the course is less than 30 days or 50 hours in duration and waiver has been granted by the CPE.

Note: FMDS Admission Policy Statement

It is FMDS' admission policy that all applicants will be given full details regarding FMDS' curriculum, academic marking guidelines, disciplinary matters, fee refund policies, and education pathway and career opportunity prior to the signing of the Student Contract.

Security Deposit:

  • As an international student, you must comply with the Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) regulations. It is compulsory for you to submit a security deposit (please see below) after your student pass application has been approved. This security deposit would be held by ICA and is refundable upon the successful completion of the programme and the surrendering of the student pass to ICA.

International students are required to obtain a valid training work permit through the employer offering the internship placement.

Ministry of Manpower Singapore (MOM) however does not guarantee the approval of training work permit for the purpose of internship placement for international students.

In the event whereby training work permit is not granted, FMDS will offer "Live Projects" as an alternative for internship placement which falls under module 8 under the Advanced Diploma programmes.
