Mark-PhooiMark Phooi Peck Lye, Mdes, UNSW
Head – Design Management

CEO of First Media Consulting Group, Mark is a strategic and tactical thinker and doer. Design and management trained, Mark started his one man outfit in 1989 and grew to more than 200 staff in 2005 with offices across regional countries. He was the only graphic designer ever to win the Top Entrepreneurs of the Year Award in 2006. He served as Honorary Secretary with the Designers Association Singapore (DAS) from 1998 to 2001. Presently he holds the appointment as a council member of Design Manpower Skills & Training Council, an initiative by WDA, MICA and Design Singapore.

Mark Phooi graduated from UNSW with a Master's degree in Design and is lecturing full-time for the Advanced Diploma in Visual Communication (Graphic Design/Multimedia) specialising in Design Management. 


David-FooDavid Foo Choon Yong, Mdes, UNSW
Head - Graphic Design

David graduated with a Masters in Design from UNSW, soon after graduating from his Bachelors of Graphic Design from Curtin University, Australia. He is also a certified Neuro Linguistic Programming Practitioner and accredidited in Whole Brain Technology, Herrmann International. For nearly 20 years, David was the board of Director for various organisations and was engaged to assist in start-ups, mergers and expansions. As a highly experienced group creative director, he specializes in design related topics using innovative and out of the box delivery methods. Hailed as an engaging speaker, company directors, professors, scientists, lawyers, managers and students from Asia Pacific countries benefit from his self-created training programs on Creativity and The Whole Brain Preference.

David Foo teaches full-time Advanced Diploma in Visual Communication (Graphic Design/Multimedia) specialising in Design Fundamentals, Design Studies, Principle of Design, Design Major, Professional Practice/Live Project, Design Specialisation and Design Appreciation. 

 

ali-millmodhAli Mohd B Mill Mohd
Head - Fashion Design

Ali graduated from New York City’s Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) majoring in fashion design. He has more than 3 decades of designing, teaching and design business experiences. He was with the international fashion label house, Esta before joining Temasek Polytechnic as a lecturer in Fashion. His last career was a Designpreneur creating his very own women’s fashion wear. He has in-depth local and regional designing and production experiences. He is well verse in fashion label conceptualization, design processes, production and retail promotion.

Ali currently heads the Fashion Design faculty full-time and teaches at the Diploma and Advanced Diploma levels in Fashion Design & Merchandising. As an experienced practitioner, lecturers and successful designpreneur, he specialises in Fashion Fundamentals, Design Studies, Fashion Studies, Fashion Technical Studies, Design Appreciation and Design Management. He is also responsible for Design Final Major Project and oversee students’ learning development under the Professional Practice module.

 

JunieJunie Tang Tze Yin
Assistant Head Graphic Design Faculty / Graphic Design Lecturer

Junie attained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Visual Communication from the University of Western Sydney in 2001. Junie’s outstanding academic achievement has placed her in the top 15 percent of the undergraduates in that year. Since then, Junie has worked for more than 8 years as Creative Head in the media and design industry. She was previously the creative brain in several high profile publications including "Ai", "Woman's World", "HOTstuff" and "Steer". As a prolific practitioner in design, she was also responsible for developing several international promotional campaign for several multi-national corporations.

As a full time lecturing staff with the FMDS Visual Communication faculty, she specialises in teaching Design Fundamentals, Design Studies, Principle of Design, Design Specialisation and Design Appreciation at Diploma and Advanced Diploma levels.

 

Ui-ChengLoh Ui Cheng
Multimedia Lecturer

Loh Ui Cheng is a Dean's List student who attained her Bachelor of Film and Animation from Multimedia University, Malaysia. After graduating, she went on to pursue her passion by working as a render artist with Animonsta Studios. Animonsta Studios recently produced the famous animation, "Boboiboy".

She currently teaches full time at FMDS for the Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Visual Communication (Graphic Design/Multimedia) programmes. Her speciality lies in 3D modeling and animation, Flash Animation, Art Direction, Typography and Web Design.
